Objectives

 

INERELA+ Vision

A world where HIV and AIDS related stigma, infections and deaths are eliminated.

INERELA+ Mission

INERELA+ exists to equip, empower and engage its members to live positively and openly as agents of hope and change in their faith communities and countries

INERELA+ Goals

 

  • Members, in partnership with others:
  • overcome self & societal stigma
  • engage in stimulating faith community responses
  • influence policies and service provision

 

In order to reduce significantly HIV infections and deaths.

Objective 1

To Establish and maintain highly effective networks across the globe that equip, empower and engage members to overcome stigma and discrimination (SSDDIM).

Strategies:

 

  • Establish and support a global secretariat
  • Establish and Support a regional and national network coordination mechanisms
  • Identify, empower and support religious leaders living with or affected by HIV.
  • Develop policies (communication, organisational management, human resources and governance), procedures and plans
  • Ensure transparency and accountability of the resources of the network.
  • Create partnerships that enhance effectiveness and impact of INERELA+

 

Objective 2

To enable members to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate anti-SSDDIM and Pro-SAVE programmes at congregational and community level for enhanced prevention, treatment, care and support.

Strategies:

 

  • To develop tools on anti-SSDDIM and Pro-SAVE programming, monitoring and evaluation.
  • To train and equip members in anti-SSDDIM and Pro-SAVE programming, monitoring and evaluation.
  • To support members in mobilising resources for programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • To Document and disseminate lessons learnt

 

Objective 3

 

  • To build the capacity of the network in effective communication, publicity and information sharing
  • Improve communication between and among regional and country networks
  • To create and manage a comprehensive membership database that includes member’s experiences.
  • Develop an interactive internet site that allows members and the general public to access information about the network.
  • Use available and appropriate communication channels to publicise the activities and impact of the network.
  • Develop and publish materials including books, brochures, videos and pamphlets.

 

Objective 4

 

  • To enable members to advocate for policies and programmes at global, regional, national and local community level that reduce vulnerability to HIV especially among marginalised and excluded groups
  • To develop and apply an internal policy on vulnerability to HIV with special focus on marginalised and excluded groups
  • To advocate for the universal adoption and application of SAVE as an holistic and non stigmatising prevention tool.
  • Design, develop and implement evidence based programmes that reduce vulnerability to HIV with and among marginalised and excluded groups.
  • Initiate partnerships with likeminded organisations to challenge policies and practices that increase vulnerability to HIV related infections, illnesses, death and other related impacts.
